Landon Donovan Wears Nike CTR360 Maestri II

Landon Donovan currently wears the Nike CTR360 Maestri II. The LA Galaxy star has been one of the main focal points of Nike's advertising campaigns in the US, primarily because of his performances on the national stage. He also had a very successful loan spell last season with Everton.

Currently, the colorway of choice for Donovan is the White/Black/Tour Yellow version. The CTR360 Maestri II has been specifically designed for playmakers, and could not be a better match for Donovan's style. They have been created a lightweight synthetic Kanga-Lite upper, innovative built-in features like dampening pods and asymmetrical lacing designed to deliver maximum ball control and optimal pass speed. You also have the choice of choosing between a regular and Elite version, with the Elite version including a carbon fiber outsole (designed to lower weight.)

You can get the regular version for $180, while the Elite version is $299, both available at soccer.com.

Landon Donovan opens his Premier League account

I have to be honest, I was not sure whether Landon Donovan was going to make an impression on the Premier League or not. Well, after 3 games, I really think he has a right to be playing among the best in the business. In Everton's midweek game with Sunderland, the American striker scored his first Premier League goal. And it was a pretty nice goal too! He took a ball out of the air at the top of the box, before sliding it under Gordan in the Sunderland net. There is no doubt that Donovan has had an immediate impact on the Everton team. I am sure that having Tim Howard in the team has helped Donovan adapt quicker. If he continues to play at the current level, I have a feeling that Everton will be looking to extend his loan deal. And lets be honest, if that happens it will be a huge step forward for US soccer, and a huge reminder to teams in the best leagues across Europe (and in particulare England) that 'Yes', US players are capable of making the transition!

Landon Donovan: Narrow World of Sports

Here is some humor to start your week off! Landon Donavan being interviewed by the very 'unique' Peter Mehlman, the humor is a little out of sorts and some how the conversation turns to getting caught with prostitutes! Landon does pretty well to stay cool headed and keep the answers flowing, could have got awkward! But enjoy....

Galaxy Find a Way to Win

LA Galaxy finally got their first win of the season at the weekend and now sit at 1-1-4 for the season. After what has been a difficult few weeks due to injuries, Galaxy battled to a 1-0 win over the New York Reb Bulls. It was Landon Donovan who scored the goal in the 39th minute, slotting home a controversial penalty. The ball seemed to hit Seth Stammler on the hip, but the linesman put his flag up for a penalty. The win was Galaxy's first in 6 games, after 4 draws and 1 losses. In the six games Galaxy have played this season, Donovan has been involved in every goal the team have scored, showing his importance to the team. David Beckham returns to Galaxy in late June, so until then it is a case of trying to get some wins on the board, starting at Real Salt Lake this coming weekend.
